Soon, robots will aid the elderly, especially who live by themselves. The robot assistance will range from helping them in physical activities to comforting them with emotionally appropriate interactions.
An iLENS service to enhance these robot functions by providing a natural language interface between an older person and a robot, will enable the robot to recognize the emotional state of the older person through a conversation between the two, or by analyzing the person's statements. It will also enable the robots to respond properly, using verbal expressions with appropriate honorification.
